Nature of a sequence

GEMINI introduces teaching examples for European high school teachers that wish to teach gender issues through serial drama. All examples have been produced according to the one series, one scene, one issue dogma, which means that scholars have chosen one especially representative scene from a popular series and pinpointed one gender issue that may be critically scrutinised in teaching.

For GEMINI, it is essential to showcase notable examples that come straight out of the GEMINI focus group interviews with high school students. However, it is even more important to stress how the GEMINI approach may also facilitate teachers own selection of more fitting and contemporary sequences from relevant series. For teachers wishing to continue working with other series and even setting up exercises for high students’ own selection of material and concepts, please read Louise Brix Jacobsen and Kim Toft Hansen’s pedagogical considerations about using ‘the GEMINI pedagogical triangle‘.
